Food Porn
Last night I made Yoshoku Feast for Fu and our friend Chieko. Yoshoku is Japanese Western food. That is, Western food with a Japanese take. I made Crab-cream Croquettes, Cod Roe Spaghetti topped with Nori and Shiso, Hamburger Steak with homemade Demi Glaze, Braised Broccoli, Potato Salad, Kabocha Rice and Ebi (Shrimp) Fry. A lot of the recipes were from Kitchen Macaroni in, who’s recipes were showcased on the Japanese dorama, Lunch Queen.

Yoshoku ! I never knew what it was called, but this is some of my favorite food- it’s part of the reason I love Hawaii. It is the kind of food that feels like home for me- that blend of asian and western… yum yum!
